iSiloX 3.35 for Windows® and Mac OS (June 5, 2003)
iSiloXC 3.35 for Windows®, Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X,
and Solaris (June 5, 2003)
iSiloX 3.35 and iSiloXC 3.35 address the following issues:
- Source HTML files that use only LF (0x0A) as line breaks
may result in an extraneous '>' at the end of the content.
- Font size set with <basefont> would not be held in content
at the same level.
- When removing single line breaks, the words adjoining the line
break would become abutted.
- Links within a page whose source URL does not have a path
component may not work.
- URLs with spaces would not be retrieved correctly.
- The unresolved links page would retain some of the formatting
information from the previous page, possibly making the text
hard to read or unreadable.
- (iSiloX) Copying entries with cookies or schedules may cause a crash.
iSiloX 3.35 and iSiloXC 3.35 add the following features:
- (iSiloX for Windows) iSiloX Clipper for Internet Explorer 5.0 or later.
The iSiloX setup by default installs the iSiloX Clipper application
to Internet Explorer, adding an icon to Internet Explorer's toolbar.
iSiloX Clipper allows easy conversion of content as the user browses
within Internet Explorer. The user can either select part of a page
to convert or convert the entire page. In both cases, all
applicable options normally available within iSiloX are also
available, as well as the ability to follow links.
- (iSiloX for Windows) Added support for automatic scheduling of iSiloX
using Windows Task Scheduler to perform scheduled conversions for document
lists with entries having scheduled conversions set.
- (iSiloX) Added support for automatic scheduled conversions within
iSiloX when a document list is open and one or more entries
have a scheduled conversion that is due.
- (iSiloX) Added Scheduling property page to the Properties dialog
for specifying conversion schedules for documents.
Each individual document can have one or more
schedules for conversion. Schedules can be of the following types:
- Once: A Once schedule is a scheduled
conversion that occurs once at a specified date and time.
- Daily: A Daily schedule is a
scheduled conversion that occurs at a specified time of the day
either once every specified number of days or on one or more chosen
days of the week every week. A Daily schedule can also have an effective
start and/or end date and time.
- Weekly: A Weekly schedule is a
scheduled conversion that occurs at a specified time of the day
on a specified day of the week either once every specified number
of weeks or on one or more chosen weeks of the month every month.
A Weekly schedule can also have an effective start and/or end date
and time.
- Monthly: A Monthly schedule is a
scheduled conversion that occurs at a specified time of the day
on a specified day of the month either once every specified number
of months or on one or more chosen months of the year every year.
A Monthly schedule can also have an effective start and/or end date
and time.
- Always: A document with an Always
schedule is converted whenever a scheduled conversion occurs such
that at least one document entry in the list has a due next
conversion time. An Always schedule can also have an effective
start and/or end date and time.
- Added <Scheduling> element to the <iSiloXDocument>
element for specifying conversion schedules for documents.
See .ixl file format
for more information.
- (iSiloX) Added options for removing horizontal padding
to the Margins property page of the Properties dialog.
The available padding options are:
- Keep all left and right padding
- Ignore all left and right padding
- Ignore only left and right padding specified on body
- Ignore only left and right padding specified on body,
division, and paragraph blocks
- Added support for removing horizontal padding using the
<LeftRightPadding> element under the <MarginOptions>
See .ixl file format
for more information.
- (iSiloX for Windows and iSiloXC) Added command line option -s
for starting a scheduled conversion.
- (iSiloX for Windows) Added command line sub-options p, s, and e
for the -H option to selectively hide the progress dialog, successful
conversion message, and error conversion message, respectively.
- (iSiloX for Windows) For the source and destination properties,
the Delete key can be used to delete items.
- (iSiloX for Windows) In Tools/Options, added Scheduling page
with an option for disabling automatic scheduling with Windows
Task Scheduler and an option to hide the progress display during
automatic scheduled conversions.
- (iSiloX for Windows) In the Document menu, added Scheduled
Conversion Account menu command for specifying the account name,
password, and whether to perform scheduled conversions only if
logged in. This option applies only to Windows XP and Windows 2000.
On other Windows versions, the menu command is disabled.
iSiloX 3.3 for Windows® and Mac OS (February 1, 2003)
iSiloXC 3.3 for Windows®, Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X,
and Solaris (February 1, 2003)
iSiloX 3.3 and iSiloXC 3.3 address the following issues:
- When a server returns an HTTP header that is not recognized,
it may result in a failure in getting the content.
- Spaces in URLs may result in an HTTP response of bad request.
- In a paragraph where the first line is indented, the text
immediately following a run of text with non-plain formatting
would incorrectly be indented if it wrapped to the beginning
of the next line.
- If an <hr> element is encountered in an HTML file and is
self-terminated (i.e., <hr/>), then subsequent content
has the same background color as the horizontal rule.
- (iSiloX for Windows®) In the Add URL/File dialog, after
clicking Browse, attempting to add many files such that the sum
of the number of characters of the file names is greater than
around 200, the add would fail.
iSiloX 3.3 and iSiloXC 3.3 add the following features:
- Added support for URL filters for excluding images and the
following of links based on the image or link target URL.
- Added wildcard and regular expression pattern matching
support for URL filters.
- Under <LinkOptions>, added the
<Exclude> and <Include>
elements for specifying the exclusion and inclusion URL filter
patterns. Patterns are specified using <Pattern>
subelements within those elements.
See .ixl file format
for more information.
- (iSiloX) In the Link properties, added URL Filters button
for accessing new dialog for specifying and modifying
URL filters.
- (iSiloX for Mac OS) When updating a .ixl file, use CR
for line breaks instead of CRLF.
- (iSiloXC for Linux, Free BSD, Mac OS X, and Solaris)
When updating a .ixl file, use LF for line breaks
instead of CRLF.
iSiloX 3.25 for Windows® and Mac OS (December 2, 2002)
iSiloXC 3.25 for Windows®, Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X,
and Solaris (December 2, 2002)
iSiloX 3.25 and iSiloXC 3.25 address the following issues:
- Maximum width and height settings for images would not be
applied to images referenced by an image tag with a width or height
attribute specification greater than the native width or height
of the image.
- Within a block with a non-zero text indent, a line following a
forced break with the <br> tag with markup at the beginning
of the line would incorrectly be indented.
- If a parent element specifies a font-size using ems, then the
child element would incorrectly also inherit the specification
instead of the computed font-size value. For example,
in the case where the parent element specified 2em, the actual
computed value of the child would be 4em (e.g., 2 * 2em = 4em).
- Upon reopening a .ixl file containing a document entry with the
receive cookies option on, the option would be reset to off.
- In a .ixl file, if an element is specified but has no content,
the .ixl file may fail to open.
- (iSiloX for Windows®) When installing to external media
for Palm OS® devices, handle possible condition where the device
does not properly report that /Palm/Programs/iSilo does not exist.
iSiloX 3.25 adds the following features:
- In the Document properties, added a home page section
for specifying the document home page number and whether
or not to open the document on the home page when the document
date changes.
- In the Text properties, for preformatted text, added an option
for specifying whether or not to use a monospace font.
- In the Text properties, for preformatted text, added an option
for specifying whether to keep all single line breaks, remove all
single line breaks, or only keep single line breaks if a space
or tab character follows.
iSiloX 3.25 and iSiloXC 3.25 add the following features:
- For the HTTP Set-Cookie header, allow commas within the value
of the name/value pair.
- Added support for Sun, 01-Dec-2002 22:34:15 GMT expiration
date format in HTTP Set-Cookie header value.
- In HTML, added recognition of empty elements that end with />
such as <br/>.
- (Windows) Added internal file path conversions to standard form
to help prevent duplicate page inclusions.
iSiloX 3.25 and iSiloXC 3.25 add support for the following
in .ixl files:
- Under <DocumentOptions>, added the
<HomePageNumber> and <OpenHomePageOnDateChange>
elements for specifying the document home page number and whether
or not to open the document on the home page when the document
date changes.
See .ixl file format
for more information.
- Under <DocumentOptions>, added the
<PreUseMonospaceFont> element for preformatted text
for specifying whether or not to use a monospace font.
See .ixl file format
for more information.

for specifying whether to keep all single line breaks,
remove all single line breaks, or only keep single line breaks

iSiloXC 3.15 for Windows®, Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X,
and Solaris (August 1, 2002)
iSiloX and iSiloXC 3.15 address the following issues:
- A relative URL for a bullet image in a stylesheet would result
in a URL that was based on the URL of the HTML file using the
stylesheet rather than on the URL of the stylesheet.
- Within a list item (e.g., the <li> tag) specifying a paragraph
block (e.g., marked with the <p> tag) would create a non-zero bottom
margin for the list item.
- Paragraphs within list items with outside markers would be aligned
with the outside marker instead of inside.
- iSiloX: After modifying the default properties, dragging and dropping
links into the list would not add a new entry to the list.
- iSiloX and iSiloXC for Windows: Backslashes in the query part
of URLs would be incorrectly translated into forward slashes.
iSiloX 3.15 adds the following features:
- Added an option to the Security properties to indicate that
printing should not be allowed for a document.
- In the .ixl file format, added <Print> element under the

iSiloX 3.11 for Windows® and Mac OS (May 7, 2002)
iSiloXC 3.11 for Windows®, Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X,
and Solaris (May 7, 2002)
iSiloX and iSiloXC 3.11 address the following issues:
- Using the option to unfold full-page top-level tables may cause a crash.
- Hyperlink reference URLs with an ampersand may become mangled due
to character reference parsing.
- Using predefined bookmarks specified through an HTML file
may cause a crash.
- Files with a content type of image/pjpeg would not be recognized
as jpeg images.
- In an HTML file, presence of a comment in the form <!--> would
result in the remainder of the file being ignored.
- Improper nesting of table elements causes an unspecified conversion
error.
- Long URLs in hyperlinks may cause an unspecified conversion error.
- If the status line of an HTTP response contains leading spaces,
the response would not be recognized as a valid response.
- Conversion would crash in certain instances where the source files
had many styles.
- A table with two or more non-contiguous columns that have cells
spanning two or more rows some of which are overlapping may cause
an unspecified error in conversion.
- iSiloX for Windows: A relative hyperlink reference to a target
from a page that was referred to using a reference containing a
backslash would result in an "Unable to open" message for the target.
- iSiloX for Windows: Deleting a category from the category list would
only persist within the current instance of iSiloX. Closing and then
re-opening iSiloX would cause the deleted categories to reappear.
- iSiloX for Mac OS: Initial revision.
iSiloX and iSiloXC 3.11 add the following features:
- In an HTML source file, when a comment of the form
<!-- saved from url=(0028)http://www.site.com/main.htm -->
appears, any anchor hyperlink reference that resolves to the same
URL will resolve to the same file
(i.e., <a href="http://www.site.com/main.htm#TopStory">
resolves to the named location TopStory
within the same file
even if the file is located on the local hard disk).
- Added recognition of "jpg" alone as a valid "Content-type:" value
for images.
- iSiloXC for Solaris: Initial revision.

- Local file paths with queries ('?') would not be followed correctly.
- If the src attribute of an img tag has a line break in the URL,
then the image would not be included.
- Attempting to edit a source URL would limit its length
to 260 characters. (iSiloX only)
- Editing an entry's properties would remove the last conversion
information. (iSiloX only)
- The top/bottom margin of table cells whose first/last block has
a non-zero top/bottom margin would not be collapsed.
- Processing instructions were being rendered as text.
An example of a processing instruction is
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>.
- If the href attribute of an a tag has a line break and white space
in the URL, then the content would not be included since line breaks
and spaces are not valid characters in URLs.
iSiloX and iSiloXC 3.1 add the following features:
- Support for interpretation of BASE HREF tag in bookmark file.
- Table processing options:
- Include only tables at levels n or greater
